Engineered for extreme durability in highly corrosive environments
Baoji Special Steel Titanium Industry Co., LTD. is a joint-stock industrial enterprise specializing in the research, development, manufacturing, and sales of titanium, nickel, zirconium, and other metal pipes and metal composite materials. The company was founded in 1997, located in Shaanxi Baoji National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (known globally as China's "Titanium Valley"). Our state-of-the-art factory covers an area of 41,000 square meters, allowing us to maintain rigorous quality control across all stages of production.
Chile stands as a global industrial powerhouse, particularly in copper mining, hydrometallurgical processing, pulp and paper production, and seawater desalination. Because these key sectors operate under extremely aggressive chemical and environmental conditions, selecting the right piping materials is critical to maintaining operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and ensuring safety. As a premier OEM Titanium Pipe exporter and manufacturer, Baoji Special Steel Titanium Industry Co., LTD. (TGTI) provides highly specialized titanium solutions engineered to meet the unique demands of the Chilean market.
Chile is the world's leading producer of copper. The extraction process heavily relies on hydrometallurgy, specifically the Solvent Extraction and Electrowinning (SX-EW) process. During this process, highly acidic solutions containing sulfuric acid and chloride ions are pumped through pipelines. Standard stainless steel or carbon steel pipes fail rapidly under these conditions due to pitting and stress corrosion cracking.
Our ASTM B338 titanium pipes and titanium cathodes offer unparalleled corrosion resistance in these highly acidic environments. Titanium develops a stable, protective oxide film (TiO2) upon exposure to oxygen, which prevents further corrosion even in the presence of hot sulfuric acid. By replacing traditional piping with our custom OEM titanium tubes, Chilean mining operations in regions like Antofagasta, Calama, and Atacama can significantly extend the lifespan of their processing plants.
Water scarcity is a major challenge in northern Chile. To sustain mining operations, many companies have turned to ocean water, building massive desalination plants along the Pacific coast and pumping water thousands of meters above sea level to the mines. Seawater is highly corrosive, especially when heated or under high pressure.
Titanium is virtually immune to corrosion by seawater and brackish water at temperatures up to 130°C. It resists erosion, biofouling, and cavitation. Our ASTM B338 Grade 2 titanium tubes are widely used in desalination heat exchangers, condensers, and piping systems. By partnering with a reliable OEM titanium pipe manufacturer, Chilean engineering firms can ensure the long-term integrity of their water supply infrastructure.
Chile's pulp and paper industry is another major consumer of titanium pipes. The bleaching stage of pulp production involves highly corrosive chlorine dioxide, sodium hypochlorite, and other oxidizing agents. Titanium is one of the very few metals that can withstand these bleaching chemicals without degrading. Our titanium piping systems ensure that pulp mills can operate continuously without frequent pipe replacements, reducing environmental risks and maximizing output.
The global shift towards green energy is driving new opportunities in South America, particularly in Chile. The country is positioning itself to become a global leader in green hydrogen production, leveraging its vast solar and wind energy resources. Water electrolysis is the core technology for green hydrogen, and titanium is widely used as a substrate for electrodes and piping systems in electrolyzers due to its stability in corrosive electrochemical reactions. As an experienced manufacturer, TGTI is ready to support Chile's green energy transition with high-quality titanium-clad materials and custom pipe fabrications.
Serving critical industrial sectors across Chile with high-performance titanium products
Proven reliability and performance in the world's most demanding industrial zones
Best Practices
Stable product quality and integrity form the core of our business philosophy. Our custom titanium engineering solutions have earned the trust of global mining giants and chemical producers across South America.
IATF 16949, CE, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC AND MSA 100% TESTED
At TGTI, quality is our promise. We understand that industrial failures in remote Chilean mining sites can cost millions of dollars in lost productivity. That is why we implement a 100% testing regime on all exported titanium pipes, tubes, and anodes. Our testing protocols include ultrasonic flaw detection, hydrostatic testing, pneumatic pressure tests, and chemical composition analysis to guarantee that every shipment meets ASTM and ISO international standards.
